I am currently working and going to school. I have realized the importance of research and contributing to knowledge. This can be done in a professional or personal area of interest. I have decided to complete a Doctoral Program to both learn and contribute knowledge.
My goal of successfully completing the Doctor of Computer Science with a concentration in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance Program and dissertation at Colorado Technical University aligns with both my professional and personal goals. Both my professional and personal goals are essential and will keep me motivated throughout the process.
I have both short-term and long-term professional goals. My short-term goal is to do work that aligns with my Doctoral in CS degree and my personal goals. My long-term professional goal is to become a leader in managing enterprise information systems with an emphasis on Information Assurance. I believe that Information Assurance is essential in today’s and tomorrow’s digital media world.
My personal goals include life-long learning, health, personal development, finances, and business. I am going to maintain good health, have a trusted circle of friends, be financially secure, be involved and active in a spiritual life, and be part of a loving extended family. These are also topics I blog about, which keeps me focused on my goals. These personal goals will also keep me focused on my Doctoral degree in Cybersecurity because we need to protect ourselves online.
I am interested in pursuing a doctoral degree to do research and to make a contribution to the body of knowledge and to become a leader in Information Assurance. More specifically, I’m interested in understanding and managing Identity, Privacy, and Trust Management in digital media. This is an important concern currently in Cyber Security. We need to learn how to detect and prevent cybercrime. One way to do this is by combining advanced technical skills with other disciplines such as Psychology and Communications.
My background includes both work and education experience in Technology, Communications, and Digital Media. I have worked as a Unix/Linux System administrator, programmer, Software Engineer, Technical Support Engineer and Senior Technical Specialist. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Masters in Computer Information Systems, and undergraduate courses in Communications and Digital Media. In addition to my professional background and education, I am involved in the online world daily via blogging, social media, and research. This experience and education will support my Doctoral Degree in Cyber Security.
I am prepared to make life and time adjustments to enable me to successfully complete the Doctoral coursework, research and writing of a dissertation. This degree, the research and contribution to knowledge, and the work I will do as a leader in managing enterprise information systems with an emphasis on Information Assurance is important to me and our future. By successfully completing the Doctor of Computer Science with a concentration in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance Program will be fulfilling a lifelong dream.
